Privacy
What we collect when you use Offertium, why, and how to reach us about it. The short version: very little, and we never sell personal information.
What is collected
- Messages you send. The contact form stores your email address, the optional name and store, the topic and the message, so that the message can be answered.
- Codes you send. A submitted code is stored with what it gives and where you saw it, so that it can be checked.
- "Did it work?" answers. Stored with the offer and the date. Your session and IP address are stored only as a one-way hash, which is used to count one answer per shopper and to stop abuse; the hash cannot be turned back into an address.
- Email alerts. If you sign up for deal alerts (for one store or the weekly email), we store your email address, the store you picked and the date. It is used only to send those alerts, and you can unsubscribe from any email or by writing to us. Alerts have not started yet; sign-ups are stored until they do.
- Popularity counts. To rank hot deals, we add up how many times each store page is opened and each offer is clicked, as daily totals per store and offer. The totals contain nothing about you: no IP address, cookie or account. Your existing session is used only so a repeat visit on the same day counts once.
- Server logs. Like most websites, the web server records requests (address requested, time, IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
Offertium sets the cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie and a security token that protects forms. These are always on.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and stores people use, so we know what to improve. It sets cookies (names starting with _ga) and sends Google the pages you view, the link that brought you here, and your device, browser and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Advertising features are switched off, and nothing is used for ads or sold.
- In the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and the rest of Europe, analytics cookies stay off unless you choose "Accept".
- Everywhere else they are on by default, and you can turn them off.
- You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Choosing "Reject" removes the analytics cookies already set.
Your choice is remembered in your browser. Google's own policy applies to the data it receives: Google Privacy Policy.
Spam check on forms
The contact form, code submission and email sign-up use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It loads only when you start using one of those forms, and Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy policy applies.
When you follow a link to a store
Links to stores go through Offertium's /out/ address and then to the store, sometimes through an affiliate network. The store and the network may set their own cookies to record that the visit came from Offertium; their own privacy policies apply to that.
How the information is used
To answer messages, check submitted codes, send the alerts you asked for, count feedback, and keep the site secure. It is not sold, and it is not shared except with the service providers named on this page (hosting, Google Analytics and Cloudflare), or where the law requires it.
How long it is kept
Messages and submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle them and keep a record of corrections. Feedback answers are counted over 30 days and kept as history after that. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete information you sent to Offertium by writing to privacy@offertium.com. The same address works for requests under the privacy law where you live, for example the UK and EU GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, or the laws of California and other US states.
Children
Offertium is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with its date.
