About Toybox

Toybox sells the Alpha Three, a kid-friendly 3D printer, along with PLA Printer Food filament, printable toys and Toybox Plus and Pro memberships.

Before you use a code on a printer, know the return clock: filament, print beds, Bolts and subscriptions get 30 days from delivery, while a printer can only come back under its warranty.

Toybox Labs, the Oakland, California company behind Toybox, designs its 3D printers for children rather than hobbyists, and the brand notes that it appeared on Shark Tank. The Alpha Three is the printer's third generation; Toybox says it prints up to 2x faster with 1.5x finer detail than the original model and calibrates without tools. Its name borrows from Alpha Centauri, the star system nearest to Earth.

The printer is not a closed system. It runs on 1.75mm PLA filament, which Toybox chose because the plastic is non-toxic and made from corn, and owners can load rolls from other brands or import STL, OBJ, 3MF and gCode files. A free Creator Space offers design apps, while the Pro membership adds AI tools that turn a typed prompt or a photo into a printable model. Printers carry a 6-month manufacturer's warranty.

Can you use Toybox without a membership?

Printers go back through the warranty process, and one whose 6-month warranty has expired can't be returned. You need an approved return form before Toybox sends a prepaid label.

Can Bolt purchases be refunded?

Bolts bought in the last 30 days can be refunded if enough of them remain in the wallet. Older Bolt purchases are final.

Does Toybox refund the original shipping on a returned printer?

Outbound shipping isn't refunded when a printer comes back, even though the return label itself is prepaid.

How quickly does a Toybox order have to be cancelled?
