About Furniture Direct Online
Furniture Direct Online is a family furniture retailer in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, founded in 2014, selling sofas, recliner sofas, sofa beds, chairs, beds, wardrobes and mattresses.
It delivers only to mainland England, Scotland and Wales. Its 100-day money-back guarantee is the rule to protect: it covers pieces you haven't assembled or used, so keep a new sofa packed until you're sure.
Furniture Direct Online grew out of a family with more than 40 years in the furniture trade. In 2015 it moved into an 80000 sq ft warehouse, which it says lets it hold over 20000 sofas in stock, and it runs a showroom on Dewsbury Road in Ossett.
The sofa range covers corner, U-shaped and modular designs, cinema sofas and chairs, and recliners with electric or manual mechanisms in leather or fabric. Named lines include the Hanna, Forbes and Orlando recliners, the Chestnut corner and chaise sofas in Enzo chenille, and the Meridian U-shaped sofa bed with storage. Bedroom pieces extend to headboards and pillows, and the site publishes buying guides on sofa fabrics and dimensions.
Past Furniture Direct Online sales
- Black Friday (VIP early access for subscribers) Next: Announced on Furniture Direct Online's site,
Does Furniture Direct Online offer free shipping?
Yes. Every sofa comes free to a room of your choice in mainland England, Scotland and Wales, and most orders take 2-5 working days.
How long does Furniture Direct Online shipping take?
A list of postcodes, mostly in the Scottish Highlands and islands, is left out, and there's no international shipping, so no US delivery.
What is Furniture Direct Online's return policy?
Arrange the return in advance and send items unused, unassembled and resaleable in protective packaging; each customer gets only one change-of-mind return.
What payment methods does Furniture Direct Online accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express work at checkout, and finance plans take weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments, including 0% over 11 months.

How to use a Furniture Direct Online coupon code
- Furniture Direct Online runs on Shopify, so the discount box is on the checkout page's order summary, the platform's standard layout.
- No sign-up is needed to order, but the Black Friday VIP prices go only to subscribers, so join before Nov 10 if you're waiting for that sale.
- Weigh any code against the return terms.
- A discounted sofa that's wrong on the day can go straight back with the couriers for a full refund, provided it's still unassembled in its original packaging.
- Change your mind later and you either haul it to the warehouse or lose £199 to a collection.
More ways to save at Furniture Direct Online
- Spreading a sofa over 11 months at 0% finance keeps the price as listed, with no interest on top.
- Visiting the showroom first, open Monday to Saturday with Sunday visits by appointment, cuts the odds of paying £199 for a collection later.
- If you're shopping in November, subscribing gets you into the VIP sale ten days before the public one.
Furniture Direct Online questions, answered
Does Furniture Direct Online deliver outside mainland Britain?
Deliveries cover mainland England, Scotland and Wales only, minus a list of postcodes that are mostly in the Scottish Highlands and islands. A UK-based shipping agent can receive or collect an order for anyone further away.
What does it cost to send a sofa back?
Taking a change-of-mind return to the warehouse costs nothing, while a collection by the store's team costs £199, deducted from the refund. Faulty or wrong items go back free, and refunds follow within 10 days of the return arriving.
Can a sofa be refused at the door?
Hand it back to the couriers at delivery for a full refund, as long as it hasn't been assembled and is still in its original packaging.
When does the Furniture Direct Online Black Friday sale start?
The sale page lists VIP early access for subscribers from Nov 10 and the public sale from Nov 20, without stating a year.
Will the delivery team take an old sofa away?
Old furniture isn't removed by the store. It points shoppers to the British Heart Foundation's free collection service instead.
