Editor, Offertium

Hi, I'm Danica Petrovic, the editor at Offertium. I have spent years researching online retailers, analyzing prices and evaluating promotions, and I still get a small thrill when I find a discount that is actually worth using.

A little about me

Friends and family send me their shopping carts before they pay. I send back a code, a cheaper version of the same thing, or a gentle "wait until Friday". Offertium is that habit turned into a website, and I run it with my husband. How it started is on our About page.

Why I love a good deal

To me, a good deal is not about beating the system. It is about paying a fair price for something you wanted anyway and keeping the difference for something else. I follow seasonal sales and store promotions all year, and that habit helps me tell a real price drop from a familiar banner with a new date on it.

Value over the biggest number

The biggest number on a banner is rarely the whole story. An "up to" headline that covers a handful of items can be worth less than plain free shipping or a steady student discount. So I read the small print, check what a deal really covers and compare it with the other ways to save at the same store. If the honest answer is "skip the code, the welcome offer is better", that is what I will tell you.

What I do at Offertium

How I look at a deal

  1. I go to the store first. The terms, exclusions, minimum order and end date come from the store's own site.
  2. Every offer gets a date, so you can see how fresh it is.
  3. I compare before I recommend. If the welcome offer beats the code, I say so.
  4. "Verified" means someone actually tried it. A code gets that label only after it worked at checkout or the store confirmed it.
