About Future Society
Future Society makes fragrances, body care, candles and discovery kits, plus the Base Scent daily treatment, all formulated without phthalates, parabens, polycyclic musks or sulfates.
Its $75 free-shipping line applies to US orders only, since the brand does not ship abroad, and anything bought on sale cannot be returned, so a marked-down bottle is a final purchase.
Future Society launched in 2023 as a fragrance brand from Arcaea, the biology-focused beauty company founded by Jasmina Aganovic, an MIT-trained chemical biological engineer whose earlier roles were at Fresh, Living Proof and Mother Dirt. Its first collection used DNA sequencing to reimagine the scents of six extinct flowers, an approach the brand calls "Expressive Biology." Eau de parfum names include Haunted Rose, Grassland Opera, Cloud Reverie, Solar Canopy and Wandering Rain.
Base Scent, the newest product, is an unscented treatment that the brand presents as the start of a category it calls Scent Care: it works with the skin's microbiome to make a person's own scent more neutral and steady. The brand says it came out of more than 5 years of microbiome research. The site also sells a fragrance primer and travel sizes.

Standard takes 5-7 business days and expedited 2-3, with overnight for a fee; orders by 2 PM EST on business days leave the same day.
What is Future Society's return policy?
30 days from receipt, US only, in original packaging with proof of purchase; refunds exclude original shipping and follow within 10 business days of approval.

How to use a Future Society discount code
- Codes for the brand's own site go in the discount box of the order summary on the Shopify checkout page.
- Two limits shape what a code is worth here.
- First, anything bought on sale is non-returnable, as are Discovery Sets and Scent Surrection sets unless damaged, so pairing a code with a sale item removes the option to send it back.
- Second, a code on the brand's site has no bearing on purchases made at Sephora, Nordstrom or other retailers, which also cannot be returned through the brand.
- Because shipping is calculated at checkout, a shopper near $75 should check whether the discounted total still clears the free-shipping line.
More ways to save at Future Society
- Discovery kits let a shopper sample several scents before choosing a full fragrance, a sensible first step given that full returns lose the original shipping charge.
- Arcaea Rewards is linked from the footer for repeat buyers, although its terms were not readable.
- The Summer Sale Event page shows a summer sale has been held, with the catch that sale items are final.
- With most products carrying a 24-month period after opening, stocking up during a sale is less likely to leave product going to waste.
Future Society questions, answered

When will a Base Scent order ship?

Are Future Society products tested on animals?
Products are not tested on animals and are made without phthalates, parabens, polycyclic musks and sulfates.
How long does a Future Society refund take?
