About Booster Juice
Booster Juice is a Canadian juice and smoothie bar chain that opened its first location in Sherwood Park, Alberta, in 1999.
It serves smoothies, fresh juices, shots, açai bowls and food in store and through its app. Most of the money off comes from Booster Rewards, where each eligible dollar earns a Berry Point toward free smoothies, food or dollars off.
Booster Juice was founded by Dale Wishewan, who grew up in Waskatenau, Alberta, studied mechanical engineering at Portland State University, where he played baseball on scholarship, and spent 8 years in international technical sales at Edmonton Exchanger. Juice and smoothie bars he saw while travelling in the US led him to test smoothie recipes in his home kitchen as a new option in the Canadian fast-food market.
Growth was quick: 15 locations opened in the first year and 35 more in the second, a pace of 50 stores in two years that the company calls a Canadian franchise record. The menu now adds Booster Mix'rs made with tea or oat beverage and fruit, wraps, paninis and Booster Balls. The chain also runs catering, a school lunch program and franchise opportunities.
