Lems makes barefoot-style shoes and boots with a zero-drop sole and a wide fit, for men and women, from everyday pairs to running shoes, waterproof boots and sandals.
The rule to know first is the 60-day return window, which gives you time to test a size, as long as the shoes stay unworn outside.
Lems was created by Andrew Rademacher, who in 2008 gave up on finding shoes shaped like a real foot and began taking apart his own running shoes to strip out extra material. He taught himself pattern making, shoe fitting and how lasts are built, and after three years of research and many prototypes the brand released its first shoe, the Primal, in September 2011.
The guiding idea is that footwear should flare out at the toes and forefoot, where feet are broadest, and bend freely, summed up in the brand motto Less = More. Today the lineup runs from everyday sneakers, clogs and Chelsea boots to trail, waterproof and tactical boots and the ZENSPEED running range. The site explains its approach through guides on zero-drop, natural shape and outsoles, and lists stockists through a store locator.

If you have a Lems code, add it before paying and check that the total drops.
Keep pre-orders in their own cart, since pre-order items can't be combined with other items in the same order, and each separate order pays its own shipping.
A discount doesn't change the return rules either.
Final Sale pairs stay non-returnable, and original shipping isn't refunded when shoes go back, so be sure of the model before you order a discounted pair.

Gift cards are sold on lemsshoes.com, a handy choice when you don't know someone's size.
To keep a US return free, drop the shoes at a Happy Returns Return Bar rather than paying the $9 mail label fee, and choose an exchange if it's only the size that's wrong.
