About Outdoor Voices

Outdoor Voices, founded in 2013 by Ty Haney, makes activewear for women and men: leggings, skorts, dresses, sweatshirts, shorts and the CloudKnit line.

Its group discounts are generous, with 15% for students, teachers, military and healthcare workers and 25% for certified fitness instructors, but price matching and price adjustments are off the table.

Ty Haney was 23 and graduating from Parsons School of Design when she launched Outdoor Voices, having relocated from Boulder, Colorado, to New York City. The brand calls its clothing "Technical Apparel for Recreation" and frames its purpose around everyday movement rather than athletic performance, a habit it labels "Doing Things".

Its catalog can be browsed by activity, with sections for Studio, Sweat, Hike, Court Sports and Rest Day, and by named lines such as OV Joggy, OV Outdoors, TechSweat and the RecTrek Zip Pant. Bras, pants, tops and fleeces round out the range, and an OV Extra Sale section collects reduced items. Shoppers can join OV Rewards, a points program that awards points for signing up to emails or texts.

How to use a Outdoor Voices discount code

  1. Outdoor Voices takes codes in the grey box at checkout.
  2. Students get theirs by verifying a .edu email, but military members, teachers and healthcare workers create an account first and then send a valid photo ID to customer service before the 15% applies.
  3. Fitness instructors follow the same route with proof of certification for 25% off, which doesn't cover third-party items or gift cards.
  4. Shipping fees aren't refunded on a return, so clearing $100 for free shipping is worth more than it looks.

More ways to save at Outdoor Voices

  • OV Rewards gives 10 points for signing up to emails or texts.
  • Subscribers with a birthday saved on their account get a birthday discount, though the amount isn't stated.
  • Gift cards are sold too, with a balance check page.
  • When a size is wrong, the free same-item exchange beats a refund, which loses a return shipping fee.
