About Zojirushi
Zojirushi's own US online store sells rice cookers, water boilers and warmers, breadmakers, coffee makers, vacuum insulated mugs, bottles and lunch jars, plus replacement parts.
Shipping is included on every online order, but electric appliances ship only within the continental US, so buyers in Alaska and Hawaii can order only non-electric products and parts.
Zojirushi began in 1918 as Ichikawa Brothers Trading Company in Osaka, Japan, and adopted its elephant trademark in 1923, when it started making and selling vacuum bottles. The company took the Zojirushi Corporation name in 1961; "zo" means elephant in Japanese. Its US arm, Zojirushi America Corporation, was set up in California in 1987.
Milestones on its timeline include the push-type Air Pot® beverage dispenser, the microcomputer-controlled Micom rice cooker in 1983 and the Home Bakery® breadmaker in 1988. The company marked its 100th anniversary in 2018 with a move up to the Tokyo Stock Exchange's First Section. Its online store pairs products with how-to guides and recipes, such as making steel cut oats with a rice cooker or baking pizza dough in a breadmaker.
