About 50Floor
50Floor sells carpet, hardwood, laminate and luxury vinyl flooring through a free in-home consultation, then installs it itself; the company has been in business since 2007.

50Floor started out in Atlanta as a home design center handling custom carpet, flooring, and kitchen and bath remodeling. In 2010 it dropped the showroom format for shopping at home, rebranded around flooring alone, and then grew into Florida, Tennessee, Texas and North Carolina. Home Improvement actor Richard Karn became its national spokesperson in 2016. It now serves metro areas across nine states in the South and Midwest, with Houston among the newest.
Consultants bring samples to the house, measure the rooms and quote the whole job. Carpet comes in Berber, frieze, pattern, plush and saxony styles, hardwood in engineered and solid versions, and vinyl as plank or tile. Installation crews move furniture and haul away old flooring, most jobs finish in a day, and a Gold Star Installation Warranty covers repairs to the work for the first year. Interior designers can earn commission through an affiliate program.
