About Beast Academy
Beast Academy is a comic-based advanced math curriculum for elementary students from Art of Problem Solving (AoPS), sold as an online subscription, print books and live video classes.
Prices don't show in the readable pages, so the choice that matters most is the format: a bundle pairs a 1-year online subscription with a level of books and can be cancelled for a refund within 30 days.
Beast Academy traces back to 2009, when Richard Rusczyk, who founded Art of Problem Solving (AoPS), met math teacher and coach Jason Batterson at a national MATHCOUNTS championship held in Orlando. Batterson went on to write the series. AoPS had worked with math students at the middle and high school level since 1993 and wanted an elementary program that would get younger children to love the subject.
The books are drawn as comics featuring a cast of little monsters, with art led by Erich Owen, and the characters show habits like getting things wrong and learning from the error. The program spans Levels 1 to 5 for ages 6 to 13, with science books at Levels 3 and 4. Across the books and online lessons there are more than 20,000 practice problems, puzzles and games, and schools get placement tests, printables and class reports.

More ways to save at Beast Academy
- The bundle is the format with the clearest exit: a 1-year subscription plus a level of books, refundable within 30 days, with no auto-renewal to catch you later.
- Partial bundle cancellations are refunded as the difference from the full value of what you keep.
- Monthly and yearly plans follow their own cancellation process, which the bundle terms don't describe.
