Teachers Pay Teachers is a marketplace where educators buy and sell PreK-12 resources such as worksheets, unit plans, activities and classroom decor, mostly as digital downloads.

Independent Teacher-Authors and publishers sell each resource, so the habit that saves most is filtering for free resources and items on sale before you go looking for a code.

TPT traces its start to 2006, when Paul Edelman, who taught in New York City's public schools, built a site where educators could pass along the ideas and materials that worked for their students. Today it belongs to the IXL family of brands, alongside names such as Rosetta Stone and Wyzant.

The catalog is organized by grade, from preschool through 12th grade plus adult education, and by subject: ELA, math, science, social studies, world languages, the arts, special education and social-emotional learning, along with specialty areas like career and technical education and occupational therapy. Seasonal and holiday materials have a section of their own. Beyond downloadable files, listings can take the form of streamed video or even secondhand and physical items, and accounts are limited to adults aged 18 and over.
