About Chums
Chums is a family-run UK home shopping company from Liverpool, founded in 1981, selling comfort-first clothing and footwear for mature shoppers alongside home goods, gifts and mobility aids from brands like Farah, Skechers and Regatta.
The rule that matters most: Chums takes only one media or promotion code per transaction, so pick the one worth more on your basket.
Chums was founded by Graham Rubin, who had spent years in trouser manufacturing supplying the big mail order catalogues and saw an opening as UK manufacturing declined. It began with men's trousers and later widened into suits, coats, knitwear, nightwear and footwear, then ladieswear, homeware, gifts and mobility. Adam and Josh, Graham's sons, work in the business, which has its head office at Knowsley Business Park and about 200 staff working from a unit of 80,000 square feet.
Many trousers have elasticated or hidden stretch waistbands, with men's waists from 32" to 56" and some styles up to 64". Ladieswear runs from size 10 to 26, and much of the footwear uses touch fastening and comes in standard and wide fits. The home range covers bedding, curtains and hard-to-find sizes, the mobility range includes scooters and rollators for independent living, and a printed catalogue is available on request.
How long does Chums shipping take?
Standard UK delivery costs £5.95 (£7 to the Scottish Highlands and Islands) and takes 3-5 working days; Express adds £3.50 for 1-2 working days.
Does Chums offer free shipping?
Yes. Orders of £50 or more in one transaction ship free by standard UK delivery once the free-delivery promo code goes in at checkout.
What is Chums' return policy?
You get 30 days from receipt to send unused, undamaged items back post-free via Evri for a refund, exchange or replacement.
What payment methods does Chums accept?
Card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Klarna Pay in 3, which splits the bill into 3 interest-free instalments for UK residents 18+.
More about shopping at Chums
- Return limits
- Made-to-measure pieces come back only if faulty, and sanitary, incontinence and toileting items aren't accepted at all.
- Code rules
- Most Chums promotion codes need a £30 minimum spend and leave out sale items and anything over £150, unless the offer says otherwise.
- Delivery area
- Online orders go to UK addresses only, and overseas shoppers are asked to email Chums first about availability.
- VAT relief
- Shoppers who are chronically sick or disabled can claim VAT relief on products shown with 'without VAT' prices.

How to use a Chums discount code
- Chums has two places for codes.
- Media codes printed in its adverts go on the /offers page, where you type them in and click Apply.
- Promo codes, including the free-delivery one, go in at checkout instead.
- Only one media or promotion code counts per transaction, so you can't pair free delivery with a percentage code on the same order.
- Before you try a code, check the basket against the usual conditions: a £30 minimum spend, nothing priced over £150 and no sale items, unless that particular offer states different terms.
- If you qualify for VAT relief, claim it in the basket or at checkout on items shown with 'without VAT' prices.
If your Chums code doesn't work
- Minimum order: "Free standard UK delivery over £50" needs an order of at least £50; "Free Standard UK Delivery on Orders Over £50" needs an order of at least £50.
- Exclusions: Unless stated otherwise, most promotion codes need a £30 minimum spend and exclude items over £150 and sale items.
- Combining offers: Only one media or promotion code per transaction.
- End date: "Free Standard UK Delivery on Orders Over £50" ends Nov 21, 2026.
- Where to enter it: Enter media codes from adverts on the /offers page and click Apply; promo codes such as the free-delivery code go in at checkout.
More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.
More ways to save at Chums
- Signing up to Chums emails brings 20% off, sent to your inbox after you join.
- Because codes don't combine, compare that 20% with the £5.95 delivery charge before you decide which one to use on an order.
- Klarna Pay in 3 spreads a bigger purchase over three interest-free instalments.
- For furniture, scooters and mobility products, you can cancel within 7 working days of delivery, and faults need reporting within 10 working days, so unpack bulky items promptly.
