About WorldRemit

WorldRemit sends money abroad to bank accounts and mobile money wallets in over 130 countries, from its website or its Android and iOS app.

There's no plan to buy: each transfer carries its own fee and exchange rate, and both appear before you pay.

WorldRemit offers up to four ways for money to arrive, depending on the destination: a deposit into a bank account, cash collected at a pickup location, a mobile money credit, or an airtime top-up for a prepaid phone. The receiver doesn't need a WorldRemit account; the sender just supplies their name, mobile number and email.

Signing up takes an email address and a phone number confirmed by a one-time code, and some customers are asked for photo ID and a selfie. The company says the UK's FCA authorises it and that it is registered with financial regulators in Canada and Australia. A currency converter on the site shows rates in advance, and in-app chat support runs around the clock in 6 languages.
