About Backcountry
Backcountry sells gear and clothing for skiing, snowboarding, camping, hiking, biking and climbing, mixing brands like Patagonia and The North Face with its own in-house labels.
Know the return split before you buy: unused gear in its original packaging earns a full refund, while used but undamaged gear gets store credit only, within 30 days.
Backcountry operates retail stores as well as its website, and its range reaches well past clothing into technical hardware: tents and sleep systems, climbing ropes, harnesses and protection, mountain, road, gravel and electric bikes with a build-your-own option, and overlanding equipment such as rooftop tents and roof racks. A kids' department covers infant through big-kid sizes, plus carriers and strollers.
Shoppers can ask the site's staff experts, known as Gearheads, for advice, and Backcountry Garage is a newer section devoted to gear discovery. The Summit Club+ membership returns 10% cash back on purchases, eligible items can be paid for with HSA or FSA funds, and the company has teamed up with EF Adventures on travel trips.
