About Horse Saddle Shop

Horse Saddle Shop is a family-owned tack store in Bremen, Indiana, operating since 1986 and selling Western, English and used saddles along with saddle pads, tack and boots.

For savings, the key split is between saddles and everything else: every saddle ships free by ground in the continental US, other gear needs an $85 order, and any return costs a 5% restocking fee.

The online store began in January 2000, when Chuck Klockow teamed up with his father-in-law Dale to build a web version of Dale's small tack shop. Josh Hueni now serves as president and also oversees Boots Y'all, a sister boot store in South Bend. Saddle brands on the shelves include Billy Cook, Circle Y, Tucker, Cashel, Dakota, Bates and Wintec, and boots come from labels such as Ariat, Justin and Twisted X.

Western saddles are sorted by discipline and build, with sections for barrel racing, roping, cutting, reining, endurance and ranch work, as well as gaited horse, draft, mule and kids' models. Riders unsure of sizing can use a saddle fit guide or the shop's EZ Saddle Fit Tool, and a trade-in program lets an old saddle count toward a new one.

US Google searches, Sep 2025 to Aug 2026. Search interest, not sales.

Does Horse Saddle Shop offer free shipping?

Yes. All saddles ship free by ground within the continental US, and other US orders qualify once they pass $85.

How long does Horse Saddle Shop shipping take?

Orders placed before 12:01 PM Eastern usually ship the same day by UPS, FedEx or USPS.

What is Horse Saddle Shop's return policy?

30 days from delivery with an RMA number, unused and tagged; a 5% restocking fee applies and shipping charges are not refunded.

What payment methods does Horse Saddle Shop accept?

Bread Pay needs a $50 minimum and may give qualified buyers 0% APR for 6 months; layaway runs up to 90 days.

How to use a Horse Saddle Shop promo code

  1. The homepage banner points to a promo code available at checkout.
  2. The shop's coupon links work differently from typing a code: following one applies the discount, and the reduced price then shows at checkout, so that is the step to check before paying.
  3. Financing and layaway change the arithmetic: Bread Pay requires at least $50, and cancelling a layaway after the first payment costs 10% of the original order amount, which can outweigh a code's saving.
  4. Returns carry a 5% restocking fee, and special-order custom saddles add a further 5% return fee, so it pays to be sure of fit before placing a coded saddle order.

If your Horse Saddle Shop code doesn't work

  • Minimum order: "**Free Shipping** on Orders Over $50" needs an order of at least $50.
  • End date: "Save 7% on Purchase of Saddle" ends Dec 4, 2026; "Get 2% Off Storewide" ends Nov 15, 2026.
  • Where to enter it: The homepage banner says a promo code is available at checkout; a coupon link applies the discount, which then shows at checkout.

More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.

More ways to save at Horse Saddle Shop

  • Trading in a current saddle lowers the cost of the next one, and the shop supplies a discounted shipping label for it.
  • The September Special waived the restocking fee on exchanges and shipped exchange items over $99 free.
  • Riders spreading the cost can use Bread Pay, with 0% APR for 6 months for qualified buyers, or a 90-day layaway.
  • Used and clearance saddles come without a manufacturer's warranty, and special-order saddles can be cancelled free within 1 week, after which a 5% cancellation fee applies.

Horse Saddle Shop questions, answered

Is there a restocking fee on Horse Saddle Shop returns?

A 5% restocking fee applies, and neither the original shipping nor return shipping is refunded. Items must be unused with packaging and tags, and an RMA number is needed before anything is shipped back.

Can a saddle be paid for over time?

Bread Pay financing starts at a $50 purchase, and qualified buyers may get 0% APR for 6 months. Layaway runs up to 90 days, with 10% of the original order amount charged if it is cancelled after the first payment.

Does Horse Saddle Shop accept saddle trade-ins?

A current saddle's trade-in value can be applied to a new purchase, and a discounted shipping label is provided for sending it in.

Do used saddles come with a warranty?

Used and clearance saddles are sold without a manufacturer's warranty. The 30-day money-back guarantee still covers items sold, subject to the return conditions.

Does Horse Saddle Shop ship to Canada?

Canadian orders go by postal service or FedEx, and other countries by Global Airmail; in-stock items usually spend 6-10 days in transit. Duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
