About onX
onX sells GPS mapping app subscriptions for the outdoors: onX Hunt, onX Offroad, onX Backcountry and onX Fish, with an onX SOS emergency add-on and plans for businesses.

onX was founded in 2009 by Eric Siegfried, who wanted hunters, himself included, to be able to see public land boundaries in the field. That idea first became the onX Chip, followed in 2013 by the Hunt App with digital maps for hunters across the country. The company describes its mission as awakening the adventurer inside everyone.
Public land access is a central part of the business. A dedicated Access team funds land access projects, has mapped the country's landlocked public lands, and works with nonprofits and land managers; in 2018 Siegfried met senior land agency officials in Washington, D.C., to argue for public access. The apps now serve a wide set of pursuits, from turkey and upland hunting to overlanding, snowmobiling, backcountry skiing and climbing, with route data from Mountain Project inside onX Backcountry.
