Thrifty rents cars at U.S.

and international locations, airports included, with optional protection products and add-ons priced on top of the base rate. The biggest standing saving is Pay Now: paying when you book takes up to 15% off base rates, but those bookings lock the payment method and can't be edited online within 24 hours of pickup.

Beyond the rental itself, Thrifty runs a member program called Blue Chip Rewards, and bookings made through Blue Chip Express can have their payment method changed online. At participating locations, renters can check in ahead of time, pick the exact vehicle from a phone on pickup day and walk straight to the car without queuing at the counter.

The company rents to drivers aged 20 to 24 under certain conditions, and a single booking can list as many extra drivers as the car has seats. Its website also hosts a travel blog with destination ideas and an electric vehicle help section on charging and battery care, and rental receipts remain available online for six months after the car is returned.
