About Turo

Turo is a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace where you rent cars from local hosts for days, weeks or months, with airport pickup and delivery available.

Each host sets the vehicle's price, and Turo adds its own fees. Your biggest saving lever is the free cancellation period, which ends 24 hours before the trip starts in most cases.

Turo's listings cover many vehicle types, including minivans, cargo vans, box trucks, classic and sports cars, convertibles and electric cars. Makes range from Toyota and Subaru to Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce, and a search can start from an airport, a hotel, an address or a city.

Every trip comes with a choice of protection plan, which limits what the guest pays out of pocket for damage and can be changed before the trip begins. On the other side of the marketplace, car owners list their vehicles as hosts, and Turo gives them a Host Hub and an earnings estimator called the Carculator.

Free cancellation
Cancel within the free period, 24 hours before the trip in most cases, for a full refund. It's shorter on bookings made close to the trip start.
Late cancellations
Trips longer than two days are refunded minus one day's average cost, or half a day for trips of two days or less.
Non-refundable trips
A full refund comes back only within a 24-hour grace period after booking. Host cancellations and no-shows are fully refunded.
Protection plans

Security deposit

How to use a Turo promo code

  1. The Turo pages read for this page didn't list a current code or show where one would go.
  2. Most of your price is set before checkout, so compare hosts first, since each sets its own rate.
  3. A host's delivery fee is already built into the daily price, and you should never pay a host directly for delivery.
  4. Booking places an authorization hold rather than an immediate charge.
  5. Canceling before that charge is processed releases the hold.
  6. If you choose a non-refundable trip, the only full-refund chance is the 24-hour grace period after booking.
