About Tracfone

Tracfone sells no-contract prepaid phone plans on the Verizon network, along with phones, accessories and home internet.

Check the device before you hunt for a coupon: Tracfone's coupons exclude many phones, including every iPhone model, and plans and SIM kits can't be refunded once bought.

Tracfone, a Verizon company, works on a simple model: customers buy a phone or bring their own, activate service and refill when they choose, with no contract. The phone lineup runs from Apple, Samsung and moto smartphones to flip phones and hearing aid compatible models, plus refurbished devices.

For smartphone customers on the Unlimited Talk & Text line, Unlimited Carryover rolls unused data into the next cycle as long as service stays active. Add-ons include international calling to more than 100 destinations and a Global Calling Card, and the brand also offers IDnotify identity protection and Lifeline service. Accounts can be checked or refilled at any hour by texting 611611, and the site is available in Spanish.

When shoppers look for Tracfone coupons

Tracfone coupon searches peak in January, about 1.3× a typical month, and dip lowest in April.

US Google searches, Oct 2025 to Sep 2026. Search interest, not sales.

Does Tracfone offer a military discount?

Yes. Military members who confirm their status through ID.me get 10% off unlimited talk and text plans priced at $20 a month or higher.

What payment methods does Tracfone accept?

Tracfone takes credit cards, PayPal and reward points, so a Rewards balance can pay toward service.

How to use a Tracfone coupon

  1. Confirm the phone qualifies before you count on a Tracfone coupon, since every iPhone model, several Samsung Galaxy, moto g, Blu, Nokia and TCL models and reconditioned devices are excluded.
  2. The military discount needs ID.me verification first, then applies to unlimited talk and text plans at $20 a month or higher.
  3. It combines with the Auto-Refill discount but not with Extended Service Plans.
  4. For home internet, the Target discount can't be combined with AARP or Auto-Refill discounts, so compare them and keep the larger one.
  5. A plan bought with a code still can't be refunded later.

If your Tracfone code doesn't work

  • Exclusions: Coupons exclude many devices, including all iPhone models, several Samsung Galaxy, moto g, Blu, Nokia and TCL models and reconditioned devices.
  • Combining offers: The military discount combines with the Auto-Refill discount but not with Extended Service Plans; for home internet, the Target discount can't be combined with AARP or Auto-Refill discounts.
  • New customers only: "Free Gift Sitewide for New Customers" is for a first order.

More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.

More ways to save at Tracfone

  • Auto-Refill is the steadiest saving at Tracfone, since it lowers monthly plan prices and takes Freedom from $50 to $45.
  • Unused data on Unlimited Talk & Text smartphone plans carries over while service stays active, so a smaller plan can stretch further.
  • Rewards points from refills, tasks and referrals pay toward plans and add-ons.
  • Well-qualified customers can lease a phone to own through SmartPay, though not in MN, NJ, WI or WY.
