Nurse discounts at online stores usually come as part of a wider "heroes" program that also covers military, first responders and teachers. You verify once with a service like ID.me, GovX, SheerID or VerifyPass, or the store's own form, and then get a code or a lower price at checkout.
Nurse-only discounts are rare online. Healthcare programs aren't. We cover 78 stores that name nurses, healthcare or medical workers as eligible, and some are big names: Nike, Converse, Bose, Clinique and HelloFresh among them.
- Look for "Heroes" or "First responders" pages. That's where most stores put healthcare workers.
- Have proof ready: a nursing license number, a hospital badge, a work email or a recent pay stub.
- Check who's included. Some stores mean licensed nurses; others include all hospital staff.
- Watch the limits: single-use codes, full-price items only and one code a year are all common.
How do nurse discounts work online?
A store can't check your license at checkout, so it hands that job to a verification service. You prove your role once. Then the store emails you a code, or drops the price while you're signed in. The discount is tied to you, which is why you won't find it posted as a public code.
Most programs treat healthcare workers like every other group they cover. If first responders get 15% off and medical workers sit in the same program, nurses usually get 15% too. A few stores run a separate healthcare page with its own amount, so go by the page that names your group.
Which services verify healthcare workers?
ID.me
ID.me has a group for nurses and medical providers. You verify your identity and your license once. From then on, a "Verify with ID.me" button on the store's page or in the cart applies the discount. Of the stores below, more use it than any other service.
GovX
GovX started with military and government workers, and many of its stores add healthcare workers to the same offer. Sign up free, verify, and pick up the store's code inside GovX.
SheerID
SheerID sits inside the store's own form. You type your name and your license or employer details, and it checks them. If it can't confirm you, it asks for a document.
VerifyPass
VerifyPass turns up mostly at smaller brands. You verify once and the store emails you a code, often single use.
Who counts as a nurse or healthcare worker?
Every store sets its own rules, but these groups come up again and again:
- Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nurse practitioners
- Doctors and other medical providers
- Hospital employees, at stores that say "hospital staff" or "healthcare workers"
- Nursing students, at a few stores, usually through a student discount instead
Read the wording closely. Burton says licensed healthcare workers, Dolce Vita says frontline healthcare workers, and Outdoor Voices wants active healthcare workers. Nursing students will usually do better with our Student Discounts: Stores That Give Students Money Off guide, since student programs are far more common online than nurse programs.

That's 42 of the 78. The rest are mostly smaller brands. Can't see your store? Here's how to check it yourself.
How do you check if a store has a nurse discount?
- Look beyond the word "nurse". Search the store's footer and FAQ for "heroes", "healthcare", "medical" and "first responders".
- Search the services. ID.me and GovX list the stores they partner with.
- Check the cart. A "Verify with ID.me" button often sits near the discount code box.
- Ask the store. Tell support your role. Some stores include nurses even when their page only says "first responders".
Once you're verified, read the fine print. Allbirds gives one code a year, Clinique renews every 30 days, and Purple's code is one-time. If a code you got after verifying gets rejected, our guide on Why Promo Codes Don't Work (and What to Try Next) covers the usual reasons.
What about work shoes and everyday gear?
Good shoes matter on a long shift, so start there. Converse and OOFOS both have a healthcare program, and Nike gives medical professionals 10% off. Our Shoes page lists every shoe store we cover, with current codes and deals.
Clothing brands make up the biggest group, from Eddie Bauer and Lee to Bonobos and Dolce Vita. Browse Clothing & Fashion for the full set. For wellness buys, our Health & Wellness page is the place to start.
No nurse program at your store? Its email sign-up discount, free-shipping threshold or next seasonal sale may still get you something.
Is a healthcare discount worth more on a big purchase?
Often, yes. A few stores give a flat dollar amount instead of a percentage. Leesa takes $75 off a mattress, Abt $50 off orders of $500 or more, and Tonal $500 off. On a big purchase, that can beat a small percentage code. Compare stores on our Mattresses page, and read Best Time to Buy a Mattress: Month-by-Month Guide before you pick a weekend.
Meal kits stand out too. Home Chef and HelloFresh both give healthcare workers a big first-box discount, then a smaller one on later orders. Our Meal Kits & Meal Delivery page lists the stores we cover.
Should you use a nurse discount on a sale?
Only if the store lets you. Many heroes codes work on full-price items only, and several stores say they don't combine with other codes. Veterans Day is on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2026, and Black Friday follows on Friday, Nov 27, 2026. On both, compare the sale price with your discount and take the bigger saving.
Questions shoppers ask
What do I need to verify as a nurse?
Usually your nursing license details, a hospital badge, a work email or a recent pay stub. ID.me, GovX, SheerID and VerifyPass check your details and ask for a document only if they can't confirm you.
Which big brands give nurses money off?
Nike gives medical professionals 10% off most items, Converse 15% off for US healthcare workers, and Bose 10% off the cart, up to $100. Clinique gives verified medical professionals a single-use 20% off code. Terms change, so check the store's page before you buy.
Do nursing students get nurse discounts?
Rarely through a nurse program, but student discounts are far more common online. Verifying as a student through UNiDAYS, Student Beans, SheerID or ID.me often works better for nursing students.
Why don't more stores have a nurse discount?
Most online stores group healthcare workers with military, first responders and teachers in one heroes program, and many small stores have no program at all. Searching a store's site for "heroes" or "first responders" often finds it.
