About Bookshop.org
Bookshop.org sells new books, ebooks, kids' books, stationery and gifts online, and sends over 80% of its profit margin to 2,500+ independent bookstores.
You can choose which bookstore your order supports. Its code offers seen on publisher pages are title-specific: they come off list price and leave ebooks out.
Bookshop.org is laid out much like a general bookstore. Fiction runs from romance, fantasy and science fiction to mystery, horror, manga, poetry and graphic novels, while nonfiction covers history, biography and memoir, cooking and wine, politics, business, travel, parenting and more. Young adult titles get their own section, and the children's range is sorted by age, from board books (0-3) through picture books (3-7) to middle grade (8-12), with Newbery and Caldecott Award winners grouped separately. Upcoming releases can be pre-ordered.
Beyond books, the shop stocks games and puzzles, bookmarks, journals and planners, and The Bookshop.org Tote Bag. Reading lists are compiled both by Bookshop.org itself and by member bookstores, next to the Indie Next List. A number of listings are paid placements labelled Sponsored, which Bookshop.org says help pay for its mission.

How to use a Bookshop.org promo code
- Bookshop.org's pages don't say where its code box sits, so look for it while you review the order before paying.
- Check what a code covers firSt. The publisher-page offers seen on the site apply to list prices on named titles and exclude ebooks, so a digital copy in the same cart won't pick up the saving.
- Choose the shipping option at the same step, because the charge is worked out per order, per item or per pound, and it can eat into a modest discount on a single paperback.
- If you want a particular independent shop credited, select it before you check out.
More ways to save at Bookshop.org

- Gift cards are sold on the site, but they can't be returned, so buy one for a reader you know.
