About Cotopaxi
Cotopaxi sells packs, bags and men's and women's outdoor and travel apparel, and as a certified B Corp it gives 1% of annual revenue to the Cotopaxi Foundation.
Its promotions skip sale items and gift cards, so a full-price jacket or pack is where a welcome code earns its keep.
Cotopaxi was founded by Davis Smith, who grew up across Latin America, and is named after an active volcano in Ecuador whose trails, glacial streams and wild llamas shaped his childhood. The company trades as Global Uprising, PBC, publishes a yearly impact report and belongs to 1% for the Planet. It says recycled, leftover or other lower-impact materials go into over 96% of its products, made in factories it picks for how they treat workers.
Based in Utah, the Cotopaxi Foundation is a private nonprofit that funds groups working on health care, education and livelihoods, mainly in Latin America. Under the Guaranteed for Good™ promise, faulty gear can be repaired, replaced, credited or traded in, and a pre-loved section resells used gear.

Yes. Economy shipping is free over $99 before tax, but not to international addresses, US territories, PO Boxes or APO/FPO.

Orders leave from Salt Lake City, Utah, and Route shipping protection is an optional $1.15 add-on.
What is Cotopaxi's return policy?
The refund policy allows 60 days; tags must stay on and gear unwashed, with $6 deducted unless you return in a Cotopaxi store.

How to use a Cotopaxi coupon
- Cotopaxi's store is on Shopify, so the discount box appears in the order summary on the checkout page.
- The SMS welcome code covers one full-price product, which means it won't touch anything already marked down.
- Welcome codes and promotions can't be combined with other discounts, and gift cards are excluded as well.
- Sign up a little before you plan to buy, since the code arrives by text rather than on screen.
If your Cotopaxi code doesn't work
- Exclusions: Promotions exclude sale items and gift cards; items marked 'All Sales Final' can't be returned or exchanged.
- Combining offers: Welcome codes and promotions can't be combined with other discounts or promotions.
- New customers only: The first-order offer (sign up for email and SMS; a one-time welcome code arrives by SMS, valid on one full-price Cotopaxi product) does not apply to repeat orders.
More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.
More ways to save at Cotopaxi
- The Amigos list is Cotopaxi's loyalty club, with members-only offers, giveaways and Amigos loyalty sale events on full-price items.
- A holiday gift with purchase adds free gifts to orders of $100 or more while it runs.
- Under the Guaranteed for Good promise, gear with a problem gets repaired, replaced, credited or traded in, which stretches the value of a full-price pack.
