About Holafly
Holafly sells travel eSIMs with data plans for single countries and regions, plus monthly global data subscriptions you install through an app or a QR code.
Trip eSIMs are data only, with no calls or SMS, and they don't work in your home country, so buy for the destination rather than for use at home.
Holafly was started in 2017 by Pedro and Lidia, who came up with the idea after being left without a data connection on a trip to Thailand. After the Lanzadera Acceleration Programme, it launched its eSIM product in the summer of 2018. It now lists an address in Dublin, Ireland, and offices in cities including Valencia, Medellín, Lima and Bangkok, and it aims to be carbon neutral by 2028.
Coverage reaches 200+ destinations. The global subscriptions come in three tiers: Light, Unlimited, which adds a local number for incoming texts, and Ultra, which bundles 24/7 doctor chat, wellbeing sessions and flight and luggage help. Every eSIM carries 1 GB of free Always On backup data, and the HolaCoins rewards scheme returns 5-7% of eligible purchases as credit in the iOS and Android apps.
When shoppers look for Holafly coupons
Holafly coupon searches stay fairly even all year: June leads, February trails.
Does Holafly have a student discount?
Yes. 15% off through the student plans page; how status is checked isn't stated.

How to use a Holafly discount code
- The right Holafly discount depends on what you're buying.
- Students can take 15% off through the student plans page.
- HolaCoins from Holafly Rewards can pay for discounts or even a free eSIM in the app, but they aren't earned on monthly or yearly subscription plans.
- For a global plan, the longer billing period is the saving to weigh: about 10% off quarterly or about 20% off yearly.
- Monthly plans activate the moment you buy, so purchase close to departure.
- If your phone turns out to be incompatible, a full refund applies while the eSIM is still unactivated.
More ways to save at Holafly
- The referral program pays both sides: a friend gets a percentage off a first purchase, and you collect 500-700 HolaCoins per referral, depending on your level.
- Cashback climbs from 5% at the lower level to 7% at the top, across Silver, Gold and Platinum.
- The included 1 GB of backup data renews every 30 days, so keeping the eSIM installed between trips costs nothing.
