About FTD

FTD sends flowers, plants and gift baskets through a US network of local partner florists, a business running since 1910.

Timing shapes every order: same-day delivery on many arrangements needs the order in by 2 pm on weekdays or 1 pm on weekends, counted in the recipient's local time, and a delivery fee applies on top.

FTD began as the Florists' Telegraph Delivery Association, set up by a group of florists as the country's first flowers-by-wire service, passing orders between shops by telegraph. Its Mercury Man logo dates from 1914, the Mercury Network linked florists electronically from 1979, and FTD.com went live in 1994. Proflowers joined the business in 2014, and FTD merged with FromYouFlowers in 2023. The company is based in Chicago.

Beyond bouquets of roses, lilies, hydrangeas, sunflowers and mums, the catalog includes preserved roses, orchids, peace lilies, succulents, dish gardens, mini trees and pet-friendly plants. Gift options run from fruit baskets and chocolate-covered strawberries to wine, cookies, jewelry and candles, and a sympathy section offers funeral sprays, wreaths and memorial plants. FTD also runs a florist network that local shops can join, plus corporate gifting and an FTD Plus membership.

How to use a FTD promo code

  1. FTD takes codes in a field labeled "Promo or gift card", found on the Payment or Delivery page.
  2. Type the code there and click Apply, then check that the arrangement total dropped before you place the order.
  3. That same field handles FTD gift cards and Groupon vouchers, so you redeem those exactly where a promo code goes.
  4. The delivery fee sits on its own line, apart from the arrangement price, so look at both after the code goes in.
  5. For a same-day order, finish before the 2 pm weekday or 1 pm weekend cutoff while you try codes.
