About K1 Speed
K1 Speed runs indoor electric go-kart racing at 100-plus centers, from walk-in Arrive & Drive races to leagues, parties and corporate events, and it started in Carlsbad, California in 2003.
Race prices are set per person and vary by location, and every driver needs an Annual License, about $8.50 at most centers.
Every K1 Speed center runs electric karts and also includes an arcade plus a Paddock Lounge restaurant, and most of those lounges serve beer and wine to guests 21 or older once they are done racing. That setup lets the company present its venues as all-in-one entertainment centers rather than just tracks.
Beyond standard sessions, K1 Speed offers themed evening race formats, a karting academy with one-on-one classes, junior, teen and adult leagues, and a world e-karting championship. Its centers are spread across the United States and Canada as well as Mexico, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and China. The company also sells branded apparel and race gear, runs a franchise program, and publishes race scores and rules for drivers on its site.
