About Kaplan
Kaplan sells test prep courses, practice tests and tutoring for college admissions, graduate and medical school exams, nursing, bar and teacher licensing tests, and college advising.
Course prices weren't on the pages read, so the main money facts are its $300-off banner and the Higher Score Guarantee.
Kaplan's exam list reaches well past the SAT and ACT. Graduate applicants can prepare for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, DAT and OAT, doctors for the USMLE steps and COMLEX USA, pharmacists and dentists for the NAPLEX and INBDE, and younger students for the PSAT, AP exams, SHSAT, SSAT and GED. Courses run as live online classes or self-paced study, with a study plan built for each learner and performance reports that point to weak topics.
On the admissions side, KapAdvisor is an AI tool that answers questions about essays, activities and financial aid, while Kaplan College Advantage combines advising and test prep from freshman year onward. Kaplan says its one-on-one advisors have sat on admissions committees. The company also works with K-12 schools, medical schools and nursing schools, and its nurse practitioner review course draws on what it calls more than 40 years of nursing experience.
