About Black Diamond
Black Diamond sells climbing, ski, trail-running and hiking gear from Salt Lake City, from harnesses and carabiners to headlamps, trekking poles, skis, gloves and packs.
Its discount codes only work on full-price items, so outlet gear already marked up to 40% off won't take a code on top.
Black Diamond's range goes past climbing hardware into technical apparel for men and women, including shells, insulation, fleece and ski jackets and pants, along with climbing, approach and lifestyle shoes. Its ski side adds poles, climbing skins, AT bindings and snow safety equipment, and the mountain category also covers tents and lanterns.
The company describes itself as born from the climbing life, and its site publishes athlete stories, films, how-to and training guides, and a QC Labs series alongside a Gear Myths feature. It sells ready-made kits for disciplines such as trad climbing, bouldering, mountaineering and backcountry skiing, stocks spare parts, offers gear repairs, runs a BD ReRoute program and has released a shoe collaboration with norda.
When shoppers look for Black Diamond coupons
Black Diamond coupon searches peak in November, about 2× a typical month, and dip lowest in March.
Does Black Diamond offer free shipping?
Yes. Economy shipping is free over $99 to the contiguous 48 states, though crash pads, portaledges, skis and rope spools don't qualify.
How long does Black Diamond shipping take?
Ground orders take 2-6 business days in the contiguous 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico go by FedEx air or USPS.
What is Black Diamond's return policy?
Unused gear with tags and packaging gets a full refund within 60 days of purchase, minus the return label cost.
Does Black Diamond price match?
If an item goes on sale within 7 days of purchase, Black Diamond refunds the difference, except on outlet items.
What payment methods does Black Diamond accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, debit cards, PayPal, PayPal Credit and eGift cards are accepted.

How to use a Black Diamond coupon
- Black Diamond runs on Shopify, so the discount box is on the checkout page's order summary.
- Before you enter a code, scan your cart for outlet items, since codes apply to full-price gear only.
- BD Rewards points and a discount code can't be used on the same order, so work out which one takes more off.
- A 100-point reward is worth $10 and skips sale items anyway.
- Some discount offers also fall outside free economy shipping, so an order just over $99 may pick up a shipping charge once a code goes in.
- Oversized items cost extra to ship whatever you enter.
If your Black Diamond code doesn't work
- Exclusions: Discount codes work on full-price items only, not outlet items.
- Combining offers: BD Rewards points cannot be combined with a discount code or other promotions.
- New customers only: "Save up to 12% on Your First Order" is for a first order.
More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.
More ways to save at Black Diamond
- The outlet carries last season's gear at up to 40% off, a good fit if the newest version isn't a muSt. Full-price buys earn BD Rewards points at 1 per $1, and every 100 points comes back as $10 off a later order.
- Watch prices for a week after you buy: if a full-price item goes on sale within 7 days, the difference is refunded.
- E-gift certificates are sold online, and the card itself carries no sales tax.
Black Diamond questions, answered
Can a Black Diamond coupon be used on outlet gear?
Discount codes are limited to full-price items, so outlet gear is out. The outlet's own markdowns run up to 40% off last season's gear.
What happens if Black Diamond puts an item on sale after you buy it?
Black Diamond refunds the difference when an item goes on sale within 7 days of purchase. Outlet items aren't covered.
How do BD Rewards points work?
Membership is free, and you earn 1 point per $1 spent. Every 100 points turns into $10 off your next purchase, though not on sale items or alongside another promotion.
Does Black Diamond ship to Canada?
FedEx carries Canadian orders in 4-7 business days at flat CAD rates. GST is charged, Black Diamond pays the duties, and freight-forwarded export orders are cancelled.
