About Dollar

Dollar rents economy to luxury cars, SUVs, minivans, pickup trucks and vans at more than 600 locations in 53 countries, and it's owned by The Hertz Corporation.

The easiest saving to claim is the email sign-up reward of 15% off the base rate of your next weekly or weekend rental.

Dollar Car Rental began in 1965, when Henry J. Caruso founded it, originally called Dollar Rent A Car, and its head office today is in Estero, Florida. The company runs both airport counters and neighborhood branches across major US cities, serving vacationers as well as business travelers.

The fleet is matched to popular leisure spots: Jeep four-wheel-drive models at ski destinations, convertibles in sunny states and plenty of minivans for family trips, with ski racks offered where skiing is common. Infant and toddler safety seats can be rented with a booking, and vehicles adapted for drivers with physical disabilities are offered at most branches given 48 hours' notice. Beyond everyday rentals, Dollar runs the Dollar 4Business program for companies, government travel programs, Dollar Weddings for guest bookings and the Dollar Express Rewards program for frequent renters.

How to use a Dollar coupon

  1. The pages read on Dollar's site didn't show where a discount code goes in the booking flow, so look for a code entry as you reserve and compare the rate total before and after.
  2. The email reward applies to the base rate of a weekly or weekend rental, so check the base rate line rather than the final total when you confirm it applied.
  3. Members of AAA, Union Plus, BJ's Wholesale or AICPA have their own member-only discounts to price against it.
  4. Planning to pay with debit?
  5. It isn't accepted for PayNow rentals or premium vehicles.
  6. Cancellation rules weren't covered in what was read, so read the terms in your confirmation email.
