About Milk Bar

Milk Bar ships its cakes, cookies, pies and cake truffles nationwide, along with baking mixes, cookbooks and gift bundles, from a bakery in business since 2008.

Read the return rule before ordering a birthday cake: there are no returns, exchanges or refunds unless the problem comes from Milk Bar's own manufacturing, packaging or handling.

Milk Bar calls itself NYC's #1 bakery, and it runs shops across New York City in Nomad, the Upper West Side, Nolita, the West Village and Williamsburg, plus Chicago, Melrose in Los Angeles, Logan Circle in Washington DC and a Las Vegas location at The Cosmopolitan. Those bakeries handle same-day pickup and delivery.

The shipped menu covers its signature Milk Bar Pie, Birthday Cake, cake truffles, cookie tins and gluten-free cakes, plus seasonal flavors such as a fall maple cookie butter cake and a cookie line made with JELL-O pudding. Home bakers can buy cake, cookie and brownie mixes, cookbooks and recipes, or join in-person and online baking classes. Milk Bar also handles corporate and group gifts and wedding orders, and runs a loyalty program called The First Bite Club.

When shoppers look for Milk Bar coupons

Milk Bar coupon searches peak in December, about 2.2× a typical month, and dip lowest in August.

Does Milk Bar offer free shipping?

Yes. Standard shipping costs nothing once the order reaches $100; the rate below that isn't listed on the store's pages.

How long does Milk Bar shipping take?

Everything is baked to order and flash-frozen before it leaves, and express shipping gets most orders there within 2 days.

What is Milk Bar's return policy?

None, except for a fault in Milk Bar's manufacturing, packaging or handling; carrier delays aren't refunded, though Milk Bar files a UPS claim for a mishandled box.

How to use a Milk Bar discount code

  1. A Milk Bar discount code belongs in the order summary's discount field once you reach the Shopify checkout.
  2. The newsletter offer needs the sign-up first, and it only applies to a first order of $80 or more.
  3. Since standard shipping turns free at $100, a cake plus a tin of cookies that clears that mark saves on delivery as well as on the code.
  4. Treats are baked to order and can't come back for a change of mind, so confirm the address and the delivery date before you pay.

If your Milk Bar code doesn't work

  • Minimum order: "$15 off your first order of $80+ (newsletter)" needs an order of at least $80.
  • New customers only: "$15 off your first order of $80+ (newsletter)" is for a first order.

More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.

More ways to save at Milk Bar

  • The First Bite Club is Milk Bar's loyalty program and worth a look if cake truffles are a regular order, though its rewards weren't listed on the pages read.
  • Near a Milk Bar bakery in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or Washington DC, same-day pickup is an option for a last-minute birthday.
  • Teams and offices can place corporate and group gift orders, and gift cards from the shop menu let the recipient choose their own flavors.
