About Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is a UK supermarket selling groceries online for home delivery or Click & Collect, with Tu clothing, Argos, Habitat and an energy business under the same roof.

Most savings run through Nectar, whose members get Nectar Prices and collect points they can turn into grocery evouchers.

Sainsbury's own ranges include Taste the Difference, and its Occasions service supplies party food such as sandwich platters, celebration cakes and buffet dishes. The site also hosts recipe ideas, from Meat Free Monday meals to budget family dinners. Under the Sainsbury's Money name it offers pet insurance, travel money, loans and savings, while Sainsbury's Energy says it was named a Which? Recommended provider for 2026.

Groceries are also listed on Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats, and Nectar can be linked on the latter two. Prices shown online are only a guide: shoppers pay the shop price that applies when the order is delivered or collected, and the card is charged that same day.

How to use a Sainsbury's discount code

  1. Sainsbury's discounts usually reach you as evouchers, and each one comes with tight limits.
  2. An evoucher works once per customer or delivery address.
  3. It won't sit alongside another offer or evoucher, so save the most valuable one for a bigger shop.
  4. Tobacco kiosk purchases, baby milk, spirits and liqueurs, stamps, phone vouchers and charity products don't count toward it.
  5. Delivery charges are excluded too, unless the evoucher states otherwise.
  6. Nectar points you convert into grocery evouchers follow the same rules.
  7. Because you pay the in-store price on delivery day, your final total can differ a little from the guide price you saw while filling the trolley.

  • Combining offers: Each evoucher can be used once per customer or delivery address and not with any other offer or evoucher.

Goods can be handed back to the driver at the door for an automatic refund to your card. Perishable and frozen food, drink and flowers only go back if they're faulty or of poor quality.

Is the Sainsbury's delivery charge refunded after a return?

The delivery charge is refunded only when the whole order comes back within 30 days. Nectar points earned on it may also be removed.

When does Sainsbury's take payment for an online order?

Payment comes out on the delivery or collection day. You're charged the in-store price on that day, since website prices are guide prices.

What happens after a missed Sainsbury's delivery?

You have 24 hours to call and rearrange it. After that the order is cancelled and the delivery fee may be kept.
