Step2 has molded plastic playhouses, climbers, water tables and ride-ons in northern Ohio since 1991, and also sells kids' furniture, pool and patio furniture and planters.
Big items travel by truck, and that's where costs bite: a truck return loses 20% to a restocking fee.
Step2 makes its products by rotational molding at two Ohio plants, located in Streetsboro and Perrysville. Most of the range is made in the USA, although some items and parts are imported, and the plastic can go into level 4 recycling. Besides selling direct, the company supplies retailers in the US, Canada and more than 70 other countries.
Its early products were for home and garden, including the MailMaster mailbox. In 2006 it introduced the Waterwheel Play Table, which it describes as the first water table of its kind, then added a planter line in 2021 and moved into pool products in 2023, with items such as the Vero pool furniture collection. Toys can be browsed by age, from infant to kindergarten, and the site sells replacement parts. Climbers and swing sets are intended for home backyards rather than public playgrounds or childcare settings.

Where it ships
PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses are excluded, and online orders aren't taken for Hawaii or Alaska.
Return costs
You pay return shipping and lose the original shipping charge; refunds go to the original payment method or arrive as a promo code.
Made in the USA
Most products are rotationally molded in the USA, though some products and parts are imported.
Step2's shop is built on Shopify, so the discount code box is part of the checkout page's order summary.
Before applying anything to a climber or swing set, confirm it's headed for a backyard: these are rated for residential use, not public playgrounds or childcare.
Exchanges aren't offered, so a code spent on the wrong playhouse means a full return and a new order.
Toys bought from another retailer can't be returned to Step2 at all, which makes it worth weighing the direct price, code included, against the store you'd otherwise use.

More ways to save at Step2
The Halloween decor sale takes up to 25% off in October.
Seasonal items lose their return eligibility once the season ends, so check sale decor soon after it arrives.
A refund issued as a promo code can go toward a later order, and replacement parts and personalized address plaques are final, so order those carefully.
When the kids outgrow a playset, the plastic can be recycled at level 4.
