About Christianbook

Christianbook sells Bibles, Bible studies, homeschool curriculum, church supplies, Christian fiction and kids' products at discounted prices, and two brothers started it in 1978.

The rule that matters most is the shipping one: free standard shipping on US orders of $50 or more needs a promotion code typed at checkout, and that code won't combine with any other offer.

Christianbook began with two teenagers, a Bible college freshman aged 19 and his brother, 14, selling discounted academic titles out of their parents' home, before the boxes outgrew the garage. The company sums up its approach with the slogan "Everything Christian for Less."

The store serves three main groups. Individual readers find Bible studies, Christian living titles, fiction, music and DVDs. Churches get communion supplies, bulletins, Vacation Bible School material and a GiveBack program meant to stretch ministry budgets. Homeschool families can talk to Homeschool Specialists for curriculum advice. Christianbook Rewards is a paid membership with 10% cash back on its own orders after a free 30-day trial, and the company also runs Autoship, a self-publishing service, print catalogs, a podcast and the Homeschool Compass blog.

When shoppers look for Christianbook coupons

Christianbook coupon searches peak in March, about 1.3× a typical month, and dip lowest in June.

US Google searches, Sep 2025 to Aug 2026. Search interest, not sales.

Does Christianbook offer free shipping?

Yes. US orders of $50 or more, counted before shipping and tax, ship free by standard service only with the free-shipping promotion code.

How long does Christianbook shipping take?

Standard ground reaches the contiguous US in 1-6 business days, Alaska and Hawaii in 1-4 weeks, and APO/FPO addresses in 2-6 weeks.

What is Christianbook's return policy?

New, unopened items go back by USPS within 60 days for the merchandise cost; shipping isn't refunded, and noncompliant returns may face a restocking fee starting at 20%.

Does Christianbook price match?

Call 1-800-CHRISTIAN about a lower price found elsewhere, and the store says it will try to match it whenever possible.

How to use a Christianbook coupon

  1. Christianbook asks for the promotion code at checkout, and for the free-shipping code you also have to choose Standard Shipping there, or the discount won't show.
  2. Make sure the merchandise reaches $50 before shipping and tax, since that's the total the code reads.
  3. It can't be combined with other offers and won't apply to earlier orders or backorders, so pick the single code worth the most on this cart.
  4. Bulk orders may be restricted, and products such as Nee Doh items are not eligible for free shipping.

If your Christianbook code doesn't work

  • Minimum order: "Free standard shipping on US orders $50+ with code FREESHIP50" needs an order of at least $50; "$25 Off Your Order + Free Shipping on $100+ Orders" needs an order of at least $100.
  • Combining offers: The FREESHIP50 free-shipping code cannot be combined with other offers or used on earlier orders or backorders.
  • End date: "$25 Savings on Your Order" ends Nov 18, 2026; "10% Off Christian Book Orders" ends Nov 18, 2026.
  • Where to enter it: Enter the promotion code at checkout and choose Standard Shipping.

More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.

More ways to save at Christianbook

  • The Merry Savings Christmas sale was running on the site in October, ahead of Christmas.
  • Regular buyers can weigh Christianbook Rewards: 10% cash back here plus shipping and return-shipping rebates, though at $16.95 a month it only pays off on steady spending, so use the free 30-day trial to test it.
  • Email sign-up promises subscriber offers, but no fixed sign-up discount is stated.

Christianbook questions, answered

How long does Christianbook delivery take?

Standard ground takes 1-6 business days within the contiguous US, and nothing ships on weekends or holidays. Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands take 2-4 weeks.

Can opened DVDs or music go back to Christianbook?

Opened media is accepted only for a replacement, not a refund. Personalized items come back only when they're defective.

Is the Christianbook Rewards fee worth paying?

After the free 30-day trial it costs $16.95 a month and returns 10% cash back on Christianbook orders. Compare that fee with your usual monthly spend before the trial ends.

Does Christianbook ship to Canada?

Canadian orders go by standard shipping in 1-3 weeks, with rates set by weight and prices in US dollars.

What happens when a Christianbook order arrives damaged?

Defective, damaged or wrongly shipped items are replaced. Contact customer service to arrange it.
