About Indigo
Indigo is the Canadian bookstore chain behind Indigo, Chapters and Coles, selling books, kids' books, toys, gifts, stationery and games online and in stores.
Prices are in Canadian dollars. The plum Rewards program matters more here than any coupon: free membership brings free shipping over CA$49 and 20% off in your birthday month.
Indigo describes itself as Canada's biggest bookstore and as a Canadian-owned and operated company, and it puts Canadian authors and publishers front and centre. A curated Heather's Picks list sits beside bestsellers, new releases and seasonal edits such as Halloween, and the shop also has Lifestyle and Games & Hobbies departments. The site is available in English and French.
Indigo's reach goes past the shelves: it hosts author and speaker events, runs a plumTeacher hub for educators and backs the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. Its gift cards are accepted at Indigo, Chapters, Indigospirit and Coles stores as well as online.
Does Indigo offer free shipping?
Yes. Standard delivery within Canada is free on eligible orders over CA$49, though some items and remote postal codes are excluded.
How long does Indigo shipping take?
Free standard shipping usually takes 1-9 business days, and free in-store pickup is ready in 3 hours or less.
What is Indigo's return policy?
Indigo gives 30 days from purchase, or from the shipping date for delivered orders, and refunds in full with proof of purchase.
What payment methods does Indigo accept?
Indigo takes major cards including Diners Club and Discover, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Indigo gift cards and plum points.
Does Indigo price match?
Indigo's terms of sale say online prices aren't eligible for price matching.

How to use a Indigo coupon
- Indigo runs on Shopify, so the discount box sits in the order summary on the checkout page.
- Sign in to your plum account before you pay, because plum points redeem at checkout too, from CA$5 off for 2,500 points to CA$100 off for 35,000 points.
- Most current Indigo deals are banner offers rather than codes, such as buy 1, get 1 50% off select books or buy 2, get the 3rd free on select kids' books.
- Those apply to the qualifying titles in your cart, so check the order summary before paying.
- Short of CA$49?
- Choosing in-store pickup also avoids a shipping charge.
If your Indigo code doesn't work
- Minimum order: "Extra 25% Off $50+ Orders" needs an order of at least $50.
- End date: "Extra 25% Off $50+ Orders" ends Nov 16, 2026; "20% Off All Purchases" ends Nov 24, 2026.
More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.
More ways to save at Indigo
- Free plum membership earns 5 points on almost every dollar and gives 20% off once in your birthday month. plum PLUS costs CA$39 a year and adds 10% off almost everything, free shipping with no minimum and 2,500 bonus points with the birthday offer.
- That fee pays back fastest for families buying books and toys through the year.
- Indigo's email list has a sign-up offer too, though no amount is given.
- Gift cards spend at Indigo, Chapters, Indigospirit, Coles and online.
