MyHeritage is a family history service: you build an online family tree, search historical records, order DNA testing kits, and colorize or animate old photos.
New users get a 14-day free trial, the simplest way to test the records before picking one of its subscription plans.
MyHeritage, run by MyHeritage Ltd., pairs genealogy research with consumer DNA testing. Its DNA kit estimates ethnic origins across 2,114 geographic regions and matches testers with relatives, and the records side includes collections such as the 1950 U.S. Census. Once a tree is started, the service keeps searching on its own and emails Smart Matches and Record Matches when it finds possible links, records or newspaper articles. Existing trees can be brought in as a GEDCOM file.
Photo tools go beyond colorizing: Deep Nostalgia animates faces in old pictures, DeepStory has ancestors narrate their own life stories, and there are enhancement and LiveMemory features. Research works on desktop, tablet and mobile, and the downloadable Family Tree Builder syncs with the site. Plans are named Premium, PremiumPlus, Data, Complete, Omni and Photo, and a Gift Membership is available.

Start the 14-day free trial, then compare Premium, PremiumPlus, Data, Complete, Omni and Photo on the plan page before you pay for any of them.
Note the date the trial ends, and check which features your family research actually needs, whether that's DNA matches, record search or photo work.
More ways to save at MyHeritage
The 14-day trial lets you try record search and the tree builder before paying for any of the six plans.
If the person you're shopping for is the family historian, a Gift Membership covers it without a separate account purchase.
Because cancelling is allowed anytime and your tree data stays yours, a plan can be stopped once a research project wraps up.
