About Hickory Farms

Hickory Farms sells gourmet food gifts: boxes and baskets of summer sausage, cheese and mustard, plus sweets, Wicked Good Cupcakes and wine gifts.

Signing up for promotional emails brings 10% off, and that's the simplest saving before you send a basket.

Hickory Farms started in 1951, when Richard Ransom sold handmade cheese at county fairs and farmers markets. Its Original Beef Stick appeared in 1956 and later became the Signature Beef Summer Sausage, and the first store opened in Toledo, Ohio in 1959. By 1981 there were more than 1000 Hickory Farms stores and holiday kiosks across the US and Canada.

The company says its cured meats and cheeses are still made in the American heartland. Its Signature Beef Summer Sausage, made with North American beef, hickory smoke, mustard seed and black pepper, took a gold medal from the American Masters of Taste program in 2011, and the range also includes turkey and Farmhouse (beef and pork) sausages plus Sweet Hot Mustard. Hickory Farms bought Wicked Good Cupcakes in 2021, has supported No Kid Hungry since 2008, and runs a corporate gifting service for business orders.

How to use a Hickory Farms coupon

  1. The 10% sign-up discount comes from joining Hickory Farms' promotional emails, so subscribe before checking out.
  2. Free Shipping promotions have their own fine print: they cover only flagged products, and only up to $215 in shipments.
  3. A large gift order above $215 gets no shipping discount at all.
  4. Some perishables aren't delivered on Mondays, which matters when timing a basket for a birthday.
  5. For Christmas, the listed cutoffs are Standard 12/19 by 3pm EST, Expedited 12/22 by 1pm EST and Express 12/23 by 1pm ESt.

If your Hickory Farms code doesn't work

  • New customers only: 10% off a first order (sign up for promotional emails) does not apply to repeat orders.
  • End date: "Save 11% at Checkout" ends Nov 17, 2026; "Save 10%" ends Nov 17, 2026.

More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.

More ways to save at Hickory Farms

  • Select gifts can be bought online and picked up in store instead of shipped, as long as you collect within two days.
  • Companies sending many baskets can ask the Corporate Gifting team for special business pricing.
  • Ordering early enough for Standard shipping before the Christmas cutoffs avoids paying for Expedited or Express.
  • Double-check every recipient address, since a gift sent to the wrong one isn't reshipped or refunded.
