About Road Runner Sports
Road Runner Sports sells running and walking shoes, apparel and gear online and through 53 US stores, and it has been around since 1983.
Nearly every saving here runs through VIP Family Rewards, a paid membership that brings free Ground shipping, 10% instant savings and longer returns, while non-members pay for every shipment.
Road Runner Sports began in a small San Diego garage, started by founder Mike G., known as the "Chief Runner", and it remains a family business: his son Mike Gotfredson Jr is president, and another son, Mark, handles business development. The company describes itself as the biggest store anywhere for runners and walkers, and it stocks brands such as Brooks, ASICS, HOKA, On, New Balance, Saucony, Altra, Nike and Mizuno, along with its own KORSA apparel, custom insoles, nutrition and recovery gear.
Fitting sits at the center of how it sells. An online Virtual Perfect Fit Finder takes about 3 minutes, stores use in-person fitting technology, and Shoe Force offers mobile fittings. Its charity, Athletes Helping Athletes, has donated more than 1,580 custom handcycles to children with disabilities.

How to use a Road Runner Sports coupon
- The main offer at Road Runner Sports is tied to membership: joining VIP Family takes 20% off your first order and adds 5% Rewards Cash.
- Work out whether that pays for itself before you check out.
- The first 6 months cost $1.99, against $10.99 for a single non-member Ground shipment, and the yearly fee after that is $49.99.
- Promotions skip select styles from big running brands such as Brooks, HOKA and Nike, so confirm the shoe you want isn't one of them.
- A promotion won't reach a previous purchase either.
If your Road Runner Sports code doesn't work
- Exclusions: Promotions exclude previous purchases, gift cards and select styles from brands such as adidas, ASICS, Brooks, HOKA, Nike, On and Saucony.
- New customers only: "25% off Your First Order + Free Shipping" is for a first order.
- End date: "Extra 20% Off Your Order" ends Nov 16, 2026.
More reasons a code fails, and what to try: why promo codes don't work.
More ways to save at Road Runner Sports
- VIP members also get a 90-day fit guarantee, and Road Runner Sports custom insoles can come back for a full refund within 90 days, even worn.
- The store has run a Labor Day VIP Rewards Cash event at 20% Rewards Cash, shown on its page for Sept 3-7.
- Gift cards are sold through the store's own gift card page, which also checks balances.
